Discover a vibrant community where parents and carers come together to inspire and support each other in the joyful journey of raising children. PlayTalkRead Local is an extension of the Scottish Government’s national PlayTalkRead campaign, designed to create a nurturing space for families with children aged 0-5 years old. Through engaging weekly sessions, we aim to empower parents, promoting them as their child’s first educator and the home as a fun, learning environment. Our groups focus on building parents’ confidence and fostering positive family relationships through activities like reading, songs, rhymes, messy play, and crafts. We demonstrate how simple, positive play and learning experiences can be achieved with low-cost and often free resources.
