At Growtheatre Youth Theatre we bring together theatre and being outdoors to develop the whole child. Our members are encouraged to work independently and imaginatively and to consider how the outdoor spaces might inspire them. They are given many opportunities to take ownership of the creative process and come to understand the importance of collaboration, creativity and playfulness.

During the course of each year, youth theatre members learn a whole host of drama, design, performance and outdoor skills. We foster a supportive, encouraging and fun atmosphere, which allows members to develop their confidence both as individuals and performers. Youth theatre members come to understand the importance of collaboration and creativity and are given many opportunities to take ownership of the creative process.

At some point in the year we work with each group to devise a piece of vibrant theatre that is, more often than not, performed in an outdoor location. We try to be responsive to each group’s needs when choosing the best time to do this, for instance our Senior members have told us that they prefer to avoid the Summer Term when they have exams.

Growtheatre Youth Theatre runs in term times and offers sessions on Tuesday and Thursday. We run 3 age groups for young people, please see below for details:

Junior Group (School Years 3, 4 and 5)

Intermediate Group (School Years 6, 7 and 8)

Senior Group (School Years 9 – 13)

Pricing:

Juniors cost: £7.00 per week and the Intermediates and Seniors cost: £9.00 per week and there is a 25% discount for younger siblings. However, we ask that you pay at the beginning of the term, following the receipt of an invoice.

THURSDAY Junior Group (School Years 3, 4 and 5): 5.00 pm – 6.00 pm

THURSDAY Intermediate Group (School Years 6, 7 and 8): 6.05 pm – 7.35 pm

THURSDAY Senior Group (School Years 9 – 13): 7.40 pm – 9.10 pm
